MEET JODIE BOWEN

Homeschooling was never on my radar

That's a shocking statement, right? I always planned on sending my kids to "normal" school. After all, I turned out okay. So how did I become a homeschool mom? When my twins were 3 my husband announced, "I think we're going to homeschool." In the midst of my moment of shock, I replied, "We? You and the mouse in your pocket?" While that's a funny story now, his announcement brought fear and doubt.

  • I'm not qualified as a teacher so how could I teach my children?
  • Am I going to royally mess up my kids?
  • What if I don't have all the answers?
  • I incorrectly thought I had to quit my job to homeschool
  • How would they have friends and a social life?
  • What do I do with my kids all day?
  • And the list goes on and one

So, our homeschool journey began. I started out thinking, "how bad can I mess up kindergarten?" Fifteen years later, my twins have graduated high school and are thriving 4.0 college students. One is on course to graduate with her MBA by the age of 21. My youngest will graduate high school next year.

Why do I tell you all that? Because you probably have the same endless list of fears and doubts. And that's normal. But I'm here to tell you that it is possible, and I'd love to help and guide you on your homeschooling journey. Let's take away YOUR fear, doubt & overwhelm so your kids and family can thrive too!

Oh, and the boring bio stuff - B.A. in Psychology, married 30 years, pastor's wife, mom to 3 homeschooled kiddos and 3 lap dogs.
